Itinerary for Eyjafjallajokull day tour Skogafoss174

Travelling east out of Reykjavik along the south coast we get to Eyjafjallajokull glacier.  We start by crossing several unbridged rivers, a lot of action and fun, and get to Gigjokull glacier tongue where melted ice flowed down from the eruption.  On the route back we stop for a walk down a small canyon with a hidden waterfall at the end.

Our next stop is Seljarlandsfoss freefalling waterfall, where we take a short path that leads behind the waterfall and you can feel the spray and drizzle on your face.   We also take a photo stop at the picturesque Skogafoss waterfall.

Next, powered by the Super Jeep, we travel to areas that were badly hit by the eruption's heavy ashfall, driving off the main roads, across glacier rivers and on rough mountain tracks to get close to the eruption site.

On the way back to Reykjavik we travel throuhg the greenhouse village of Hveragerdi.  Once in Reykjavik we drop you off at your hotel or at a restaurant of your choice.

Our driverguides are knowledgeable about Iceland and will gladly adjust to your particular interest the best they can, whether it's nature, geology, history, current affairs - or 4x4 stuff. We refer to it as 'conversational guiding'. The interaction with our clients is a big part of why love our jobs.
