We follow the best weather to increase our chances of seeing the Northern Lights. We might go west; see Iceland´s largest hot spring, the beautiful Hraunfossar (Lava Waterfalls) and go off-roading on Langjökull Glacier. Or we might go east; visit the old parliament of Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. Or we might go along the south shore and see the black sanded beaches, Seljalandsfoss waterfall and go cave exploring... All according to your wishes and the weather forecast. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and we hunt for the Northern Lights on the way back to Reykjavik. |

This tour does not have a fixed itinerary. Your driverguide will advise you on the weather and what he recommends based on the weather report - but he will also listen to your wishes. So if you for example already seen the Geyser, he will show you some other sights. You can get a good idea of what is possible by looking at the other day tour descriptions.

The weather will often be too cloudy to see the auroras but this tour will still go ahead. When it's dark and cloudy, it of course constraints our options but we just have to make the best of it, perhaps look at a lava tube cave - they are always dark anyway.
Another option to see the auroras is our Northern Lights Evening tour which only goes ahead if the weather forecast is favorable.
Northern Lights Photos
NOTE: The camera works differently than our eyes. The camera can accumulate light for say 30 seconds and present it in one image - which your eyes can't. The human eye also has a lesser ability to see the red color than the camera. However, you can see the movement - which the camera doesn't capture.
As with most postcard photos they are taken in the best conditions - and tweeked in photoshop. The reason we explain this is an attempt to manage expectations and not practice false advertising.
