Itinerary for the Colours of Iceland Photo Tour


Oct. 4:    Arrival in Iceland (flights to Iceland not included) 
Transfer to hotel in Reykjavik (transfer & hotel included)

Oct. 5:   Iceland's south shore to Hotel Laki by Kirkjubaejarklaustur
Highlights: Eyjafjallajokull volcano, Seljalandsfoss & Skogafoss waterfalls, blac sand beach & lava cliffs at Dyrholaey, Reynisdrangar lava pillars by Vik. Northern lights (aurora borealis) if the skies are clear.

Oct. 6:       Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon & Skaftafell National Park. Stay at Hotel Laki.
Highlights: Boat tour on Jokulsarlon, stranded icebergs on the black sand beach, Fjallsarlon glacier lagoon (a place not known to most tourists but a favorite), Svartifoss waterfall with black hexagon basalt columns, Skaftafell National Park.
Northern lights (aurora borealis) if the skies are clear.

Oct. 7:       Fjallabak to Landmannalaugar. Stay at Hotel Leirubakki by Hekla volcano.
Highlights: The whole route is very scenic, a mountain route 'behind the mountains' through Fjallabak Nature Reserve ending in Landmannalaugar which is famous for the nature geothermal pool and the colourful mountains.
Northern lights (aurora borealis) if the skies are clear.

Oct. 8:      Golden Circle to Reykjavik
Highlights: Iceland's second highest waterfall, Háifoss and Iceland most famous waterfall, Gullfoss + Geysir, Thingvellir national park and the tectonic plates.

Oct. 9:       Departure
Transfer from hotel in Reykavik to KEF airport (included)
