The Magnificent West + Glacier is the most diverse day tour in terms of variety in landscape. Thorsmork (Þórsmörk) is a wide valley named after Thor, the Viking God of Thunder. In the southern part of Iceland, surrounded by 3 glaciers, including the famous volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, Thorsmork offers a great picturesque panorama and landscape. The rugged nature of green valleys, steep mountains, clear creeks and wild rivers make Thorsmork one of the country´s most popular hiking grounds and a favorite place for many Icelanders.
In the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption changed the surrounding landscape forever. On this day tour we go on both sides of the volcano; on the south side the crashed airplane on the black sand beach, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls and on the north side, our strong and reliable Super Jeeps will take you across the unbridged rivers into Thorsmork valley, up to Gigjokull glacier which is right below the crater of this famous volcano.
Volcanoes, including Hekla, lava of amazing colors, crater lakes, hot springs and bathing in a natural pool in the highlands. It’s unique and relaxing plus great variety in scenery. Landmannalaugar is sometimes called photographer’s paradise because of the amazing colours. This tour is available from June 10 through October as a day tour and winter as a 2-day tour.
Blue Lagoon in Iceland
The lunar landscape adventure explores the volcanic landscape of Reykjanes, with caving in a lava tube where the tectonic plates meet, volcanoes, strange lava formations and hot springs before relaxing in the Blue Lagoon. This tour is only offered as a private tour so we will adjust it to your needs and wishes – or your flight schedule. This tour is ideal to do on your arrival day if you land early or on your departure day if your flight is in the afternoon or evening.
We can arrange for private transfers between KEF airport and your hotel, either direct or with a stop at the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing soak.
